What FarmInvest means ?

FarmInvest is an Farm-Tech platform with innovative financing model and integrated supply chain solution that connects farmers with access to finance and markets. We enable any individual or institutions to fund farming and agriculture, support farmers with knowledge and training and provide market access for the farmers' produce.

What FarmInvest does?

FarmInvest empowers farmer and small/micro Farm entrepreneurs by providing access to capital through connecting them with farm investors, training on best farming techniques, sales of farm produce to boost the quality and quantity of their farm production and also provide a healthy return after harvest for both farmer and Investor.

Who is the team behind FarmInvest?

We are a team of passionate men and women, who have years of experience in the Agriculture, Finance and Technology sector. Our common goal is to find ways to create positive impact on rural farmers, contribute to the growth of food production, improve food security in Uganda, and to ensure more investment in the Farming sector to enable us to feed the growing population of Uganda and beyond.

Are Investors given evidence on the livestock/farms funded?

Each fund has evidence in the form of a ‘Farm funding Certificate” or a “Certificate of ownership” sent to them through email, which also explains the ownership of the asset and FarmInvest’s responsibility as an asset manager. In addition, an invoice will be issued right away in an individual’s/organization’s email after payment has been made. For every transaction through a cheque, a money receipt is provided to the issuer along with all other documents mentioned above.

How do I follow up on my Investments ?

Once you have registered and funded a farm, you will have access to your FarmInvest profile dashboard which is built to give Farm Funders periodic updates; we send updates for farm cycles which are 6 months and less and we can send monthly updates for farm cycles which exceed 6 months. Farm updates are written reports, pictures and videos showing the progress being made at different stages of the farm cycle.

How long does the farm cycle run for? And when do I get my return?

Depending on the farm you select, the cycle can run from 4 months to up to 12 months. At the end of the farm cycle FarmInvest facilitates the sale of the livestock/crop and give you your return within the stipulated time as mentioned in the certificate.

How much will I get as my return on investment?

Return on fund is based on a profit-sharing criterion and will depend on the farm you are funding.

How do I get paid when my farm cycle ends?

The initial funded amount and return after sales of the produce will be paid into the account details provided by you when you register your profile. You can click on 'edit profile' on your dashboard to update your bank details and other information.

Who will take care of my funded crop or livestock?

We have enlisted, verified and experienced farmers till now who are experienced and trained farmers for crops and cattle rearing,, poultry and crop production who will look after your funded farms under FarmInvest’s supervision. We will continue to add more trained and verified farmers in our network to ensure that your fund is safe and earns a healthy return.

How to join FarmInvest?

You as an individual or organization can join through our website by completing the registration using your Gmail/Facebook account or can register directly at FarmInvest office.

How FarmInvest works?

After you have signed up on our website to create your own personalised FarmInvest profile, you can then select a farm of choice to fund. You invest in a farm, pay the funding amount and at the end of the stipulated farm cycle, you will receive a percentage of the profit after the sales of produce and also your initial investment capital.

What happens after Investing in a farm?

First you will receive a Money Receipt or Invoice as soon as the payment is made followed by a ‘Farm investing Certificate” or a “Certificate of ownership” email within the following weeks which acknowledges the receipt of funding of the farm, the invoice, the farm cycle tenure and the end date of your farm cycle. On a periodic basis, you will receive farm updates which keeps you abreast of all activities on your farm, from the beginning to the end of the farm cycle. You can also get your farm updates by logging into FarmInvest and visiting your “My Profile” dashboard.

What happens if my cattle dies/is stolen/farm destroyed?

FarmInvest has agricultural experts who are dedicated to counter any unavoidable circumstances within their capacity. However, in any given situation where the risk cannot be mitigated, we will provide you with neccessary documents such as postmortem/death certificate. We strongly advise that if applicable you should insure your farm when you select and pay the farm fund. We have currently negotiated partnership with Insurance Company for providing insurance to our famers network.

Can I contact the farmer taking care of my funded farm?

A farm manager will be assigned to you and you can reach out to your designated farmer through your farm manager.

What does my insurance cover?

FarmInvest has partnered with one of the largest Insurance company and more are on the way to provide insurance cover for all existing farm projects, so that in the event of unforeseen circumstances, the funder’s capital can be refunded. How will I be helping the farmers?

You contribute by eliminating the need for loans twhich comes with interest. This is a burden our farmers have been carrying for ages and with your help through FarmInvest, they can move towards a better standard of living.

How many units/cattle in each farm can I fund at once?

The quantity varies. Please check specific farms or contact us at info@farminvest-tech.com

What transaction mode does FarmInvest use?

You can pay through our secure online system or issue a cheque or use bank deposit or transfer and provide receipt to us using bank to bank accounts or money transfer and always make sure you are getting right bank account information.

Can I visit my funded farm in person?

Yes, you may. You must inform us in advance to ensure that you get the best welcome possible.
